Part of a coin hoard of gold Byzantine coins (hyperpyra) from the 12th century, which is kept in the numismatic collection of the National History Museum – Sofia, is published. The coins are 19 in total and are distributed as follows:
Alexius I Comnenus (1092 – 1118) – 5 pieces.
John II Comnenus (1118 – 1143) – 10 pieces.
Manuel I Comnenus (1143 – 1180) – 4 pieces.
The coin hoard was found in the 1930s in the land of the village of Popovo (Vitoshko), Pernik district.
