Prince Ivan Mikhailovich Kurbsky on a white stone tombstone from the fam- ily tomb in the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Yaroslavl’ Monastery. The paper con- cludes that, according to the inscription on the tombstone, the prince died on 20 September 1552 during the siege of Kazan and, contrary to the news of his elder brother, Andrei Mikhailovich Kurbsky, could not participate in the decisive storming of the city on 2 October of the same year.
