Two Byzantine lead seals (molybdobullae) and one gold Byzantine coin (nomisma histamenon) are published, which were found in the vicinity of the town of Veliki Preslav. They are kept in the main numismatic collection of the National History Museum – Sofia. One molybdobulla is of Paulos Monomachos, imperial protospatharios, patrician and genikos logothetes (or logothetes of the genikon). It dates back to the 10th century. The second molybdobulla is of the emperor Nikephoros III Botaneiates (1078 – 1081). The gold coin is a nomisma histamenon of the emperor Constantine IX Monomachos (1042 – 1055). It was made using the “fourrée” technique, i.e. it has a copper core that was densely covered with thin gold foil.
