Abstract

The seals of Peter, megas kourator of the archon of Bulgaria, became known in 2007, following the publication of the first issue. Almost twenty years later, a second one appeared. It was discovered during rescue archaeological excavations in the summer of 2024, exploring an early medieval settlement in the Kavlaklar locality near the town of Novi Pazar, Shumen district. The newly discovered seal is the subject of the current paper. The seals (three known so far) are examined against the results of the archaeological investigation of the site from which the last one originated.
