Preface to the First Edition

The present bibliography „Geoarchaeology and Archaeomineralogy: Artefacts and Objects from Bulgaria“ includes publications by Bulgarian authors or related to artefacts and objects from Bulgaria and the Bulgarian lands and history scientific branches as: geoarchaeology in the broad sense of the term including the application of the geosciences in the study of the past of human civilization and preservation of the cultural monuments; archaeomineralogy – study of the ori­gin, composition, properties, the cut and distribution of mineral and rock artefacts and objects, pigments and salts, biomineral materials, including glyptic art and pieces of jewellery (archaeo­gemmology); megalithic and rock-cut monuments; archaeometallurgy – production, dressing and distribution of metals and alloys (ancient mining; goldsmith art; metal plastics); geomorphological and geological processes related to cultural historical monuments; geophysical methods in archae­ology; conservation and preservation of the artefacts and monuments of culture made by natural materials.

The bibliography is compiled in the declared by both the uN and uNeSco International year of Planet earth 2008 within the 2007-2009 trienium and for the organized in the same year in Sofia International conference „Geoarchaeology and Archaeomineralogy“Артефакти и обекти от България (Библиография). the compiler wish to thank all the colleagues, which added some of their publications to the bibliography.

Preface to the Second Edition

In the second edition (after the revised electronic on-line first edition in 2009) are included 1337 publications, and volume of the text is twice enlarged.
